FAQs

What qualifies as an innovation project?

Innovation projects must involve an element of novelty in product, process, component, existing architecture or business model. Efficiency improvements with well-known tools and frameworks will NOT qualify as an innovation for MIA 2022. For more details, please refer the Award Categories page. Which/what kinds of projects are eligible for participation?

First Time Entries

For Process, Offering & Dare to Dream, the innovation and pilot should have been implemented by the respective teams anytime between the time window 1st Jan 2016 and 28th Feb 2022.

For Business Model, the innovation and pilot should have been implemented by the respective teams anytime between the time window 1st Jan 2016 and 31st May 2021.

For New Business Idea, the project has to be in the idea or pilot phase. The idea should aim to solve a hitherto unanswered problem and/or cater to create a new and unexplored market. It should be substantiated with a solution design and an etched out business plan, with a clear go-to market strategy.

Resubmissions

Entries that were submitted for the Awards process in the past can be re-submitted for MIA 2022 ONLY IF the team/individual clearly establishes further developments in their innovation project from the earlier submission & shares the year of previous submission. The time window applicable for eligibility will be same as First Time Entries. The respective MIA anchors of each sector will assess the eligibility of the resubmission.

Past Winners

Innovations which were awarded the Mahindra Innovation Awards in any previous years cannot be resubmitted and will not be considered as an entry for MIA 2022 even if significant developments have been made in the project.

In case of disputes on the team & project eligibility, the respective MIA sector anchor’s decision will be final


Who can participate?

Employees from all sectors in the Group including worldwide locations are eligible.

For participation, the business verticals are classified as follows:

How will teams be created? What are the limits on team size? Who can create & edit entries?

  • Each team will nominate a team leader. She/he will create the team page online and invite members.
  • Each team can have maximum 8 members (1 team leader + 7 team members).
  • Team members can create & edit the entry online. Only the team leader is allowed to submit the final entry
  • One member teams (individual contributors) are allowed
  • A person can be a team leader or team member in multiple teams as long as his contribution to the innovation is substantial.

What is the naming convention for projects?

Project  title should  reflect the nature of your project in brief. E.g. : If your innovation is about improved brakes for XUV, the name can be " XUV Brake Improvement". A faster loan approval process can be " Instant Car Loan".


Is there a limit on number of entries?

There is no cap on entries for Sector Level. An individual or team can submit multiple entries as long as they meet the qualifying parameters


Can we submit our entry through email or offline?

All submissions to be made through the innovation awards website. Email entries/ physical copies will not be accepted
